Free Events in Bangkok This Week — No-Cost Things to Do

Bangkok is one of the most generous big cities in the world for free things to do. Most of the week’s gallery openings, neighborhood food festivals, public-park yoga and run clubs, riverside fireworks, religious processions, and BACC exhibitions cost nothing to attend. Weekly free comedy nights happen in Sukhumvit; community markets like Or Tor Kor and JJ Green stay free to browse; ICONSIAM, EmSphere and CentralWorld run rotating free seasonal festivals on their public plazas; and free outdoor cinemas pop up at The Commons, Warehouse 30 and around Bang Krachao. This page collects every free event we track across Bangkok, updated daily — filter to just the no-cost listings without scrolling past ticketed shows. Scroll for this week’s lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find free things to do in Bangkok?

Bangkok’s free attractions split into three buckets: public spaces (Lumphini, Benjakitti and Bang Krachao for fitness; the Grand Palace exterior; the Chao Phraya River paths), free admission venues (BACC for art, the Museum of Siam on Wednesdays, the Bangkok City Library), and free community events (mall plaza festivals at ICONSIAM/CentralWorld, Sunday Channel 7 Muay Thai, weekly meet-ups). All are listed in the events feed above when active.

Are there free outdoor concerts in Bangkok?

Yes. ICONSIAM, EmSphere and CentralWorld’s open-air plazas host free concerts most weekends (DJs, K-pop tribute shows, Thai indie line-ups, and seasonal headline acts during Songkran, Loy Krathong and New Year). Benjakitti Park and the Chao Phraya riverside also stage free public concerts during festivals. Watch the BKK Pulse feed for the next listed show.

Is BACC free to enter?

Yes — BACC (the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre, opposite MBK / next to BTS National Stadium) is free to enter every day except Mondays. The five upper floors host rotating exhibitions; the lower floors host independent shops, an indie cinema, and a free kids’ play area. You can walk a full afternoon for the cost of one coffee in the lobby cafe.

What free workout classes are in Bangkok?

Lumphini Park hosts free morning group classes (mostly group aerobics in Thai and tai chi) almost daily around 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Benjakitti Park has community yoga and Pilates classes on weekends. The Bang Krachao group cycle ride is free to join Sunday mornings. Some studios (Absolute You, Yogalux) offer free intro classes for first-timers — check their booking sites.

Are temple festivals in Bangkok free?

Yes — temple fairs (ngan wat) are free to enter and one of the most distinctive Thai cultural experiences. The biggest are the Wat Saket Golden Mount fair (November), the Wat Pho fair around Chinese New Year, and the smaller weekly fairs at neighborhood temples. Expect food stalls, music, lai kwam (Thai shadow puppetry) and merit-making rituals. Entry is always free; buying food and merit-making donations are optional.
